Pack 161 is an active and thriving Cub Scout pack in West Hartford, CT that is open to all genders for kids in grades K - 5. We are chartered by the Duffy Elementary School PTO and have Pack members from most of the towns elementary schools! Like all Cub Scout packs, we divide out scouts into grade-specific units called 'Dens'. Each scout is active in both their Pack and Den. The pack meets monthly (generally in the Duffy cafeteria) and goes on at least one outing or overnight adventure each month. Likewise, each Den will have a Den-specific meeting each month. Over the course of a year, the Pack will:
- Go camping (generally in the Fall and Spring)
- Sleep over on a battleship or airplane bunker
- Race Pinewood Derby cars
- Go fishing as a pack
- Have an indoor snowball fight
- March in Town parades
- Assist in local community service projects (tree planting, canned food drive, etc.)
The members of our Pack will earn awards for their participation in events, which will be presented to the kids at our Pack meetings! All of our meetings are open to the public, and we invite you to come join us! For more information, please get in touch.
